In Maths we have been looking at 3D drawing as part of our geometry unit. We learned to do this on isometric dot paper first and then enlarged a design on to a t-shirt. Yesterday at Assembly we modelled our t-shirts designs. Â

What do we want from the future?
Â
Dallas Watson, year 7
I want to be an athlete at long distance running. This means I will have to practice hard and beat lots of people who want the same as me.
I hope new Zealand stays clean and green and that we don’t mine national parks. I also hope the Japanese stop whaling.
Â
Arie Burgerhout, Year 7.
I want to be a game tester (play station and x box) when I grow up. This means I have to start off as a computer engineer. In the future I want to see no whaling by anyone and no mining in the national parks.
Â
Cheyenne Hawker, year 8
In the future I want to be a WWE wrestler or join the military as a peace keeper. This means I will need to get level 3 NCEA. I want New Zealand to be a war free country and I want the world to be free of crime.
Â
Maisie Bonifant, year 7
I want to be a teacher which means I will have to get 2 degrees from university. I want to make a difference in schools. I would like New Zealand to stay clean and green and be the cleanest country in the world. I want the Japanese to stop whaling; the whales are innocent and don’t deserve to die.
Â
Sam McDonald, year 7
When I grow up I would like to be a heat pump specialist. I will need to get a job as an apprentice. I think New Zealand should be clean, especially the rivers and seas. I think computers should be available to and affordable for everyone. I think GST should come down because food will be even more expensive.
Â
Ben Wakelin, year 7
When I grow up I would like to be a 3D graphic designer or an engineer. I will need to go to university and study maths and design. I want New Zealand to stay clean and green because not many other countries in the world are like us. I want the world to stop Japan whaling.
Â
Edward Birchler Stockdill, year 7
As a career option I would like to be a pilot. There is an airport just down the road and they do training. I would like a plane to practice in. When I turn 13 I will join cadets and they teach you how to fly. To be a pilot I need NCEA level 3. I would like the Japanese to stop whaling. I want the Government to stop logging of native forests. I think someone should invent a sustainable solution to oil running out . The world needs more sustainable ways of breaking down junk.
Â
Sophie Keenan, year 8
I want to be a vet when I grow up. This means I will go to Massey University in Palmerston North. I want to help animals. I would like New Zealand to take a stand with whaling by telling Japan to stop doing it in our waters. People all over the world need to respect laws, for example, drink driving. It is illegal so why do people do it?
Â
Amelia Aldridge, year 8.
I want to be a pilot when I grow up which means I will have to train in the air force. I would like to change the law so Japan can’t hunt whales in our waters. I would like all wars to end across the world.
Â
Barbera Forster, year 8
When I grow up I would like to work in a zoo with wild animals. I will have to go to university and work really hard. I want to stop whaling in our waters and to try to find a way to get clean water and food to countries which are less fortunate than us.
Â
Bernize Butters, year 7
I want to be a doctor when I grow up which means I will have to study at Otago University. I want to be a doctor because I like to help people and St. John’s is my passion. I want the Japanese to stop whaling in New Zealand waters. I want everyone to stop having wars.
Â
Robert Jenner, year7
When I grow up I want to be either a footballer, a rugby player or a cricketer. I would also like to be in the army. I will need to practice every day. I think New Zealand should have a death penalty because criminals keep breaking the law when they get out of jail. I think America should stop wasting money on nuclear weapons because they don’t use them.
Â
Anna Chisholm, year 8
I want to be a teacher when I grow up because I think it could be an exciting job. New Zealand should do more to recycle plastic supermarkets bags. I would like BP and other oil companies to make sure there is never another leak like the one currently in the Gulf of Mexico.
